Pam Shriver couldn't contain her delight over Freddie Freeman's heroics that lifted the Los Angeles Dodgers to victory in Game 1 of the MLB World Series. The New York Yankees appeared on the verge of taking a crucial lead in the series when Freeman thrilled the home fans at Dodger Stadium with his remarkable display.
On Friday, October 25, the Dodgers trailed by one run when Freddie Freeman stepped up to the plate in the 10th inning. Despite struggling with an ankle injury that caused him to miss three playoff games, the 35-year-old showed no signs of discomfort as he struck a 423-foot home run to deliver a remarkable walk-off grand slam, clinching a 6-3 victory over the Yankees.
Freeman broke new ground with his heroics, recording the first-ever walk-off grand slam in MLB World Series history, a feat that occurs when the home team scores the winning run in the bottom of the final inning.
While the much-awaited battle between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees was anticipated to be a thrilling encounter, Pam Shriver exclaimed that it far exceeded her expectations. The American, who was born in Baltimore, playfully declared the "most memorable" game she had ever witnessed, aside from those involving her cherished Baltimore Orioles.
"Most memorable game I have ever watched NOT involving a Baltimore team! Wow a big game that exceeded expectations!" Shriver posted on X (formerly Twitter).
"Now my 3 kids can vote and they only have one decent and stable choice" - Pam Shriver endorses Kamala Harris for US President
Pam Shriver has three children with her ex-husband, Australian actor George Lazenby. The couple welcomed their son George Samuel Lazenby in 2004, followed by twins Kaitlin Elizabeth Lazenby and Samuel Robert Lazenby in 2005.
The American recently made her feelings known about the 2024 US presidential election, recounting how she had had two "stable" candidates to choose from between Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan when she cast her vote for the first time. In contrast, Shriver expressed her belief that her three children only had one "decent" choice this time around, endorsing Kamala Harris over Donald Trump.
"I recall in 1980 at 18 years of age I had a choice to vote for Carter or Reagan- two decent stable candidates for President. Now in 2024 my 3 kids can vote for president for 1st time and they only have one decent and stable choice. @KamalaHarris," Shriver posted on X.
Pam Shriver must feel relieved that her children have even one decent choice, considering her earlier frustration with the lack of "respectable" options before Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
