Gael Monfils celebrates 38th birthday with wife Elina Svitolina and daughter Skai, calls them his '2 most precious gifts'

Gael Monfils celebrated his birthday with his wife and fellow tennis player Elina Svitolina and their daughter Skai. The Frenchman turned 38 on September 1.

Monfils met Svitolina in 2019 before getting married in 2021. The couple welcomed their first child together in 2022, a baby daughter named Skai.

The Frenchman celebrated his 38th birthday with his young family. He shared a picture with them on his Instagram and wrote a beautiful caption calling them the 'most precious gifts of his life'.

"Today, I celebrate my 38th birthday surrounded by the two most precious gifts of my life: my wife and my daughter. I am endlessly grateful for all the love that surrounds me. Each passing year reminds me of how fortunate and blessed I am. Thank you, life, for these treasures that light up my path. #38YearsOfHappiness," he wrote.

Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina both have crashed out of the US Open. The former was the first to be knocked out as he was defeated in the second round by Casper Ruud. Monfils had defeated Diego Schwartzman in the first round.

Svitolina, on the other hand, was defeated by Coco Gauff in the third round. She defeated Maria Lourdes Carle and Anhelina Kalinina in the first and second rounds.

Gael Monfils on managing tennis and baby - "It's challenging"

Gael Monfils talked about how tough it was to manage two tennis careers and a young child, while on tour. He said, in an interview with the press at the 2024 Australian Open, that it was challenging to find a balance.

"Yeah. I guess you know. It would be a lie if I tell you it's easy. It's challenging. It's a different, a different balance. As you just mentioned, we are two players, so it's challenging," Monfils said.

The former World No. 6 said the couple was lucky to have help from their mothers and nanny, while they pursued their respective careers.

"So, you know, we are learning, as well. It's our first long trip. You know, so far I feel like we manage it well, but I won't lie to you, it's challenging, yeah," he added.

Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina will now begin preparation for the Asian swing.
