Boris Becker sent his best wishes to Emma Raducanu for the upcoming 2024 Wimbledon Championships amid her Eastbourne run. This came after Raducanu's comprehensive victory over Sloane Stephens.
On Tuesday, 25 June, the former U.S. Open champion had an impressive first outing at the Eastbourne International 2024 against Stephens. She defeated the American 6-4, 6-0 to seal her place in the second round. After facing early challenges in the first set after being broken twice, the Brit found her rhythm and dominated the match in the second set.
Boris Becker took to X(formerly Twitter) to congratulate the 21-year-old for her impressive performance. The German legend sent his good wishes to Raducanu ahead of Wimbledon 2024. He wrote -
"Good result from Emma! Hopefully she can continue her good run on grass and carry it into the championship! @Wimbledon"
After the win over the 2017 U.S. Open champion, Emma Raducanu in her post-match interview, thanked the fans for coming and supporting her. She also provided her thoughts on the atmosphere at the event, where she was playing for the first time in her career.
She was quoted as saying -
"Thank you to everyone who came and supported. I could really hear you guys and feel it. It’s a much bigger court than the center court in Nottingham. It’s really nice to see so many people out here battling the heat. I actually think it’s worse for you guys sitting down in the heat than for us playing and sweating in it, so big props to you."
"I really like it here, it's really nice. The weather is especially beautiful."

"I’ve really rekindled a light" - Emma Raducanu ahead of Wimbledon 2024
Ahead of her Eastbourne campaign, the Brit sat down with the media to discuss her tennis and how she feels to be back on court after a series of injuries. Raducanu claimed she has rekindled a light and a ''fire'' inside her and is very happy.
She was quoted as saying -
"I’m just really into it at the moment. I love the sport, I love tennis. It’s kind of just taken over me. I’ve really rekindled a light and a fire inside of me. Just very happy and enjoying it a lot."
"I’m just really grateful to have this feeling again because it’s something that I feel like I’ve been missing in a way for the last few years. I haven’t felt this good about my tennis and just excited about it and passionate for a long, long time."
After missing out on grass-court swing last year due to injuries, a fully fit Emma Raducanu is gearing up for the upcoming 2024 Wimbledon Championships and is playing nicely. She recently reached the semifinals of the Nottingham Open, where she lost to Katie Boulter.
