Tennis fans were left in disbelief following Amanda Anisimova's unexpected defeat to fellow American Alycia Parks at the 2025 ASB Classic. This match marked the first encounter between Anisimova and Parks on the WTA Tour
Anisimova was seeded third at the WTA 250 hard court tournament in Auckland, New Zealand. She faced Parks in the first round and was defeated 6-2, 2-6, 3-6.
