Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev are the ATP players with the most wins on tour this year. Their tallies stand at 42 wins each, as of July 18. Responding to a tweet in this regard, fans on social media brought up the fact that Zverev is still to win a Grand Slam title this year and that he has been involved in a court case.

Following his win over Hugo Gaston at the Hamburg Open on July 18, Zverev has won a total of 42 matches this year. A feat only matched by Sinner, whose last win came in the Round of 16 stage at Wimbledon against Ben Shelton.

If we take a deeper look at their season, Sinner has won four titles in 2024 including the Australian Open. Zverev, on the other hand, has won only one title - the Italian Open. Moreover, the former has won 42 matches out of the 46 he has played this year, while the German has won 42 out of 54.

Taking win percentage into account, Carlos Alcaraz (84.6), the French Open and Wimbledon champion, has had a better year than Zverev (77.7). Sinner leads the pack on win percentage with 91.3.

A tennis-related account on X (formerly twitter) posted what it said was a list of ATP players with 42 wins this year, which featured only Sinner and Zverev, thus highlighting their unique success so far this season.

Fans mentioned Zverev's court case along with the disparity in titles.

"Now post the list of players without DV charges," one fan wrote.
"Players accused of domestic abuse by at least two women: Zverev. End of list," another fan wrote.
"Now players that have beaten up their girlfriends and you keep endorsing: Zverev ✔️✅ End of list," a third fan wrote.

Here are some more fan reactions to the list.

"How many titles for Zverev?" asked one fan.
"And only one of them had a case in the court for domestic abuse," another fan wrote.
"Still they didn't make it even to the semifinal in Wimbledon. misleading numbers and so useless," a third fan wrote.

Zverev has been accused of domestic violence by two of his ex-girlfriends. While investigation into one case was dropped by the ATP citing a lack of sufficient evidence, the second was taken up in a German court. The latter was settled between the two parties via an out-of-court settlement.

Alexander Zverev is currently competing on the clay courts of the Hamburg Open. He is the defending champion at the ATP 500 event. The German won his first-round match against Jesper de Jong in straight sets and got the better of Hugo Gaston in the Round of 16.

The top seed is now preparing to take on Zhizhen Zhang in the quarterfinals of the event. If Alexander Zverev wins the match and advances to the semis, he will have won 43 matches this year, making him the man with the most wins on tour in 2024, with one more win than Jannik Sinner's 42.
