Yuki Bhambri, Albano Olivetti go down fighting in the Australian Open 2025
Bhambri and Olivetti were impressive in the ASB Classic in Auckland where they advanced to the semis. But the Indo-French pair failed to carry the momentum into the hardcourt Major at Melbourne Park.
The opening set was a completely one-sided affair in favor of Schoolkate and Walton. Bhambri and Olivetti dropped their serve twice and failed to convert the only break-point chance they got.
They were also tentative with their second serves, coughing up two double faults and winning only 17 percent of points from them. The second set, however, turned out to be a closely fought affair.
Bhambri and Olivetti did not drop their serve but could not convert their two break-point opportunities. They made sure that they kept their hopes alive by forcing a tie-breaker.
In the tie-breaker, once Schoolkate and Walton took an early lead, they did not give their opponents a chance to stage a comeback.
