Tennis fans on the internet were left fuming after seeing Novak Djokovic being stopped by people for photographs outside a church after his kids Stefan and Tara were baptized.

Stefan and Tara's christening reportedly took place at the Ostrog Monastery of the Serbian Orthodox Church on Tuesday.

Djokovic was captured taking selfies with his fans after the completion of the ceremony. He was quickly surrounded by fans as he walked down the church's stairs in Montenegro.

The video of the interaction was shared on social media, which has apparently angered the fans as one of them decried the lack of courtesy from the people around.

"I'm sorry, but this is so wrong. Asking for photos on the steps of the monastery after one of the most private and sacred days for one family, the baptism of their children? People luck common courtesy and manners. Novak's patience and self-control is out of this world," the fan wrote.

Another fan highlighted the same concern, considering the behavior an attack on Djokovic's privacy.

"I was thinking the same when I saw those up close pictures of his children getting Baptised. They are extremely personal to him and his family. It amazes me how people expect him to pose for photos anytime they want. how he doesnt tell them to F... Off is beyond me," the fan noted.

A third fan expressed dissatisfaction writing:

"People can truly be ridiculous. Agreed, nothing is private or sacred anymore. Low grade people will always do what they please. Those that hold a higher IQ, will always be pushed to hold restraint and go with it like No1e. God bless him for being a wonderful example of us."

Earlier this year, Novak Djokovic highlighted the sacrifices a tennis player has to make while being away from his loved ones in order to play around the world.

"Sometimes, we take for granted all this trips and journeys that we have away from home. Sometimes it's a couple of months away from the dear ones," he said after winning the 2023 Cincinnati Masters trophy in August.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion thanked his family for their constant support and contribution to his success over the years.

"Of course there are tougher things in life and people there are experiencing much more difficult things than we do but I think it's worth acknowledging the emotional support and connection we have with our dear ones and I just wish to give them one big hug from here. Thank you very much for supporting me," he added.

Djokovic defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the Cincinnati Masters final to lift his 39th ATP 1000 trophy.
