Alexander Zverev chose to keep the name of the new ATP Finals venue under wraps as the tournament is set to bid farewell to Turin in 2026. Back in April 2019, the ATP announced that Turin would be hosting the season-ending tournament from 2021 to 2025.

This year, Zverev is competing in the singles event at the ATP Finals, with Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Casper Ruud, Andrey Rublev, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur also participating. Zverev has been placed in the John Newcombe Group, alongside Alcaraz, Ruud, and Rublev.

The German has previously won the ATP Finals twice. He first won in 2018 by defeating Novak Djokovic in the final and then again in 2021 by triumphing over Daniil Medvedev in the title match.

Zverev kicked off his campaign this year with a victory over Andrey Rublev, with a score of 6–4, 6–4 in the first group stage match and followed it up with a 7-6(3), 6-3 win over seventh seed Casper Ruud. The German will next face Carlos Alcaraz in his final round-robin fixture.

During his post-match press conference, Zverev was asked about the venue for the 2026 ATP Finals and he responded by saying that he was aware of the location but would not disclose it to the media.

There have been speculations that the 2026 ATP Finals will be held at the Arena Santa Giulia in Milan, currently under construction, but no official confirmation has been made yet.

“I know what is going to happen, so... I'm not going to tell you. I'm not going to be the source that you find out. I know what's going to happen from 2026 onwards.I know what's going to happen. I'm not going to tell you more. You're not going to get it from me. Not this time (smiling)," Zverev said.

Alexander Zverev will go head-to-head with Carlos Alcaraz in the third group stage match at the 2024 ATP Finals.

Alcaraz, who reached the semifinals last year before being defeated by eventual champion Novak Djokovic, kicked off his campaign at the season-ending tournament with a loss to Casper Ruud, with a score of 1–6, 5–7 in the first group stage match.

The Spaniard then bounced back impressively by triumphing over Andrey Rublev with a score of 6–3, 7–6(8) in the second group stage match to secure his place in the next round where he will face Zverev.

Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz have faced each other 10 times on the ATP tour, with each player claiming victory in five matches. Their most recent match-up took place in the final of the 2024 French Open, where the four-time Grand Slam champion emerged victorious with a score of 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.
