"I don't have much of a battery" - Taylor Fritz discloses how he and girlfriend Morgan Riddle lead contrasting lifestyles

Taylor Fritz recently admitted that his girlfriend Morgan Riddle was the busier one in their relationship since he didn't have enough 'battery' for social things like her. The American No. 1 is currently competing at the Shanghai Masters where he has made it to the quarterfinals.

Fritz has taken his great form into the Masters 1000 event where is seeded seventh. He received a bye in the opening round due to his seeding and kicked off his campaign with wins against Terence Atmane and Yosuke Watanuki in the opening two rounds.

The American then decimated 12th seed Holger Rune 6-1, 6-2 in just 55 minutes to reach the quarterfinals.

During the post-match press conference, the 26-year-old was asked who had the busier schedule when the American was at tournaments, him or his girlfriend Morgan Riddle, who is a popular social media figure.

Taylor Fritz responded that it was his girlfriend who led the busier life since unlike her, he didn't like going out much.

"Oh, I would say Morgan's busier. She goes out and does more stuff. I don't have much of a battery for, like, going out and being in public, doing social things, so she packs on some pretty busy days."

He also admitted that he would feel lazy during the tournaments and just went about his business.

"At tournaments, I like to be very lazy. I like to just, you know, take care of my business at the courts, practice, do the physio work, take care of my body, and then just relax. I think she's probably more, I mean, I may be a little more doing more physical stuff, but I think she's being really busy."

Fritz and Riddle met via the dating app Raya in 2020 and have been together since. The latter is a fashion influencer and also creates vlogs on her YouTube channel, where she documents her life as the girlfriend of a professional tennis player.

Sharing his thoughts, Taylor Fritz talked about the impact Morgan Riddle has had on his professional career. He specified how she ensured that he was disciplined during tournaments.

"Yeah, I mean, she does an amazing job of kind of doing all the work that she has to do, and then also still doing a lot of the things that help me perform and do better, you know, just kind of making my life easier, making sure we're going to sleep at a certain time, getting up at a certain time."

On the tennis side, Taylor Fritz will face David Goffin in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Shanghai Masters. The Belgian stunned second seed Alexander Zverev 6-4, 7-5 in the fourth round.

The winner of their match will face either fourth seed Novak Djokovic or Jakub Mensik in the semifinals.
