A video of the American tennis player, Taylor Fritz, recently resurfaced, where he opened up about mistakenly being called Taylor Swift. After the latter attended the US Open finals and cheered for the player, the video started to make rounds all over the internet.

Fritz ended his US Open campaign after the finals loss to the Italian Jannik Sinner with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in 2 hours and 15 minutes. During this match, Taylor Swift and his boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, were seen in the spectator box, cheering for Fritz.

After the couple was spotted in the audience, a video resurfaced on the internet where the American tennis player was seen talking about unintentionally being called Taylor Swift. He said that he does not understand the similarity among their last names.

"I've seen a lot of, I 've had a lot of people call like say, Taylor Swift instead of Fritz. I don't know," said Fritz. "I don't see the similarities really so much, but I don't know, when it happens, I don't really care, obviously."

Tennis Channel shared the video and added the caption:

"Taylor Swift watching Taylor Fritz, who's been called Taylor Swift."

Taylor Fritz opened up about his loss at the US Open 2024

Taylor Fritz was extremely disappointed after his loss at the US Open final and got emotional in his post-match interview. He expressed gratitude for the support of his fans and said that competing at the US Open was an "incredible" feeling for him.

"It's been an amazing run and thank you to the fans for everything this week. Being an American at the US Open is just incredible, feeling love all week, so thank you so much," Fritz said.

Along with this, he also apologized for not being able to become the American champion and break the drought for the American men, as they haven't won the title in the last 21 years.

"I know you've been waiting for a (American) champion for a long time, so I'm sorry I couldn't get it done this time, but I'm going to keep working and hopefully I'll get it done next time, thank you," Fritz added.

Taylor Fritz, who was initially at No.12, has now become the World No. 7. If the 26-year-old would have won the tournament, he would have been the World No. 6.
