Frances Tiafoe said that Taylor Fritz looked 'really good' during his appearance at the BOSS Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show in Milan on September 18. The American added that he wanted to pull Fritz's leg over his appearance but couldn't since he managed to turn heads with his walk on the runway.
Fritz, who is sponsored by the popular German brand Hugo Boss, walked the ramp for the company's BOSS Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show in Milan which featured their latest collection. He was accompanied by Matteo Berrettini, who is also sponsored by the German fashion brand.
The American No. 1 joined hands with BOSS during his home tournament, the Indian Wells Masters this year.
Fritz is now set to be seen in action at the 2024 Laver Cup in Berlin, Germany, where he will be representing Team World. He will also be joined by his close friend and rival Frances Tiafoe along with the likes of Ben Shelton, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Alejandro Tabilo, and Francisco Cerundolo
During Team World's press conference, Tiafoe was asked if he saw his friend lighting it up in Milan, alluding to Fritz's appearance, to which the American said that he looked amazing. The World No. 16 also joked about how he initially wanted to make fun of Fritz but was impressed with the way he carried himself during the fashion event.
"No, he actually looked really good, actually. Pause. Pause. It's crazy," Tiafoe said.
"No, he did really well, honestly. I wanted to clown him but couldn't. He opened it up too, so that's never easy. Obviously you don't know the direction you are going while you're walking."
He gave his props to the American No. 1 and said that he turned heads on social media.
"So he did really well. It all came out really good. It looked really good on social media. So well done."
The two Americans recently locked horns in a historic semifinal at the 2024 US Open where the winner would have the opportunity to become the first American since Andy Roddick in 2006 to reach the final of the New York Major. After a grueling five-setter, it was Fritz, who came back from a 1-2 deficit to clinch the game and reach the final, where he lost to Jannik Sinner in straight sets.
"Let's get another one" - An optimistic Frances Tiafoe sets his eys on winning a third-consecutive Laver Cup, Taylor Fritz teams up with Ben Shelton on Day 1
Frances Tiafoe struggled with his form for the majority of the year. However, the American finally found his rhythm during the North American hard-court swing where he made it to the final of the Cincinnati Masters and the semifinal of the US Open.
During the same press conference, he said that he was delighted to be back to his level and felt excited to grab another Laver Cup triumph.
"Yeah, definitely feels good to be playing, you know, really well again. Obviously, you know, a tough stint there for a while. But feels good. Feels good to be here once again, alongside a ton of great players. Yeah, so let's get another one."
While Tiafoe will take a back seat on the first day of the Laver Cup, his compatriots Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton will team up to take on Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev in the final match of the day.
