Iga Swiatek channels inner Tom Holland in cheeky move after her new umbrella at Australian Open breaks the internet

Iga Swiatek hilariously channeled her inner Tom Holland after her second-round win at the 2025 Australian Open. The Pole, who usually goes viral for her riveting tennis, is under the spotlight for her special Australian Open umbrella, this time.

Swiatek kicked off her campaign with a resounding 6-3, 6-4 win against Katerina Siniakova following which she faced Rebecca Sramkova. The Slovak couldn't put up any challenge and was decimated 0-6, 2-6 by the World No. 2.

The Pole received an umbrella from the Australian Open organizers during her on-court interview. Jelena Dokic recalled how Swiatek had narrated an incident from two years ago when she got stuck in the rain after having dinner in Melbourne. The 23-year-old used the umbrella during her on-court interview since it was very sunny leaving everyone in the arena in splits.

Swiatek was seen playing with it while making her exit after the match. She even said she had never received an umbrella on the court and hilariously dropped it. The video, shared by a popular Swiatek fan page on X, garnered 132.2K views with 1.4K likes and 91 retweets.

The video was retweeted by Iga Swiatek herself, who shared a GIF of Tom Holland's iconic performance on the Lip Sync Battle in 2017.

Another popular tennis fan page received 15.1K views, 604 likes, and 63 retweets upon sharing the video. Holland took everyone by surprise when he dressed up in a black halter outfit, and fishnet stockings and performed to Rihanna's superhit song 'Umbrella' on the show.

It is interesting to note that the Hollywood star did meet up with Swiatek in early 2024 when he attended the final of the BNP Paribas in Indian Wells alongside his girlfriend Zendaya.

During the post-match interview, Iga Swiatek, a coffee aficionado had another hilarious situation when she admitted that she found coffee in Sydney to be better than in Melbourne which led to a cacophony of boos from the crowd. The Pole will be facing a Grand Slam champion in the third round.

During her post-match press conference, Iga Swiatek, who boasts a 3-0 lead over Emma Raducanu in their battles so far, said she wasn't going to take her third-round opponent lightly.

"Well you know more than me because I thought we played two times but doesn't matter. Well for sure it's going to be a tough one, you know Emma can play great tennis," she said.

The Pole also explained how the difference in their rankings didn't matter much as Raducanu at her best could be a serious threat. Swiatek has a tough time at the Australian Open with 2022 being her only good run. She made it to the semifinals that year but was defeated by Danielle Collins.

The winner of their match will face either Jaqueline Cristian or Eva Lys in the fourth round.
