Iga Swiatek will take on Emma Raducanu in the third round of the 2025 Australian Open. Both players have faced each other three times on the WTA Tour, with Swiatek winning all three of those matches.

Their most recent match-up was in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, where the former World No. 1 triumphed with a score of 7-6(2), 6-3.

Raducanu was scheduled to kick off her 2025 season at the ASB Classic, but withdrew from the WTA 250 hard court event in Auckland due to a back injury. Despite this setback, she made a strong start at the Melbourne major by defeating 26th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova 7-6(4), 7-6(2) in the first round.

In the second round, she secured a victory over Amanda Anisimova with a score of 6-3, 7-5 to move to the third round where she will go up against Swiatek.

The winner of the third round match between Swiatek and Raducanu will advance to face either Jaqueline Cristian or Eva Lys in the fourth round of the 2025 Australian Open.
