The tennis offseason offers players a well-deserved break to fully unwind, and World No. 2, Iga Swiatek, is making the most of it in Poland. Recently, she shared a picture of herself enjoying the Polish delicacy pierogi alongside her psychologist, Daria Abramowicz, and coach, Wim Fissette.
The picture of the trio was originally shared by Abramowicz on her Instagram story, with Swiatek later reposting it on her own. You can see it below:
The five-time Major champion later posted a clip on her story, showcasing Fissette's reaction after trying the dumpling-shaped Polish dish. She captioned it:
"He liked it!"

Additionally, the Belgian coach reposted Swiatek's story, sharing his positive response after trying the dish.
"Loved it 🙏😋," he wrote.
Fissette became Swiatek's new coach after she parted ways with her former coach, Tomasz Wiktorowski. Around the same time, Naomi Osaka also ended her partnership with Fissette, creating an opportunity for the two to join forces.
Fissette enjoys a strong bond with his family, and recently, his wife shared an adorable Instagram picture of their two sons preparing for Christmas. The photo featured the boys posing together in reindeer-patterned outfits, capturing the festive spirit perfectly.
The Belgian coach also defended Swiatek during her doping row.
"There will always be people who will be negative" Wim Fissette on people targeting Iga Swiatek amidst the doping row
Iga Swiatek tested positive for trimetazidine during an out-of-competition test in August. However, following a thorough investigation and the Pole's explanation, the ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency) determined there was "No Significant Fault or Negligence," resulting in a one-month suspension. Players like Nick Kyrgios and Simona Halep repeatedly opposed this decision.
In light of this, Wim Fissette defended the former World No. 1, stating that those who have carefully reviewed the documents understand what transpired.
"There will always be people who will be negative, but I think that anyone who has read all the documents that Iga has provided and shown to the whole world, sees what happened. And should understand that it was just bad luck. It can happen to any player, he told Polish news agency Przegląd Sportowy Onet.
I think that those people who are negative about the case, we should ask a few questions about Iga's report and thus check whether they have actually read it," he added.
Swiatek will kick off her 2025 season at the United Cup, the mixed-team event taking place from December 27 to January 5.
