Garden Cup Results: Carlos Alcaraz defeats Ben Shelton; Emma Navarro gets the better of Jessica Pegula
The Garden Cup featured several memorable moments which were enjoyed by fans. During the event, the players enjoyed a fun dingles session. Carlos Alcaraz teamed with Emma Navarro, while Jessica Pegula paired with Ben Shelton. Alcaraz lost his singles rally to Pegula but rebounded in the doubles point, where he and Navarro triumphed.
During the women's singles match, Navarro took advice from the audience to win a point against her compatriot which helped her on the way to a 7-6, 6-4 win.
In the men's singles, Ben Shelton slipped and fell while playing a shot, and Carlos Alcaraz capitalized to return it in open space and win the point. Later, he went over to Shelton's half and hilariously acted like he punched the American before they got up and embraced.
Alcaraz won the thrilling singles encounter 4-6, 6-2, 7-4 to add another trophy to his cabinet.
