Bianca Andreescu made an NFL appearance to watch the clash between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Jets at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Andreescu came fresh off her 1R exit from the 2024 US Open, facing defeat at the hands of Italian Jasmine Paolini.
Andreescu was selected to represent Team Canada at the 2024 Paris Olympics, alongside fellow Canadians, Leylah Fernandez, Milos Raonic, Felix Auger-Alisiamme, and Gabriela Dabrowski. She went head-on with Danish Clara Tauson in the first round, ousting her in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. However, in the second round against Donna Vekic of Croatia, she suffered a thumb injury and ended her maiden Olympic bid.
Following that, she was trounced in the first round by Lesla Surenko at the Canadian Open and Elina Avanesyan at the Cincinnati Masters. Andreescu failed to make it to the second round of the US Open, losing to Paolini 7-6(5), 2-6, 4-6.
Recently, she turned her attention to the NFL, touching down in California for the San Francisco 49ers vs New York Jets game.
She posted a car selfie on her way to the game in a white dress with a stone-studded necklace and subtle make-up, as evident in her Instagram story.
"Something different for the day" she captioned it.
She next posted a top view of the NFL stadium, captioning it:
"insane"
Her next story featured her dog Coco watching the game quietly, while the former World No. 4 amusingly asked:
'Coco, are you enjoying the game?"
The 49ers took a dominant 32-19 victory over the Jets in the game, which also marked the return of Jets' veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers' from an Achilles injury.
Bianca Andreescu hilariously pleaded with Jasmine Paolini to let her win next time
After an injury-marred season, followed by a nine-month-long hiatus, Bianca Andreescu returned to the ATP Tour at the 2024 French Open. Despite her best efforts, she lost to Paolini in the third round. She further faced a 1R defeat against her formidable opponent in the third round of Wimbledon and the first round of the US Open.
An Instagram post by Tennis Channel captured the light-hearted conversation between the two, where the 24-year-old urged Paolini to let her win next time.
"You have to let me win next time..."
To which, the Italian replied:
"Sorry"
Andreescu defeated former World No. 1 Serena Williams to win both the 2019 Canadian Open and US Open titles. She became the first Canadian player to win the Canadian Open in 50 years and the first to win a Major singles title.
