In Pictures: Carlos Alcaraz unwinds on yacht, plays tennis with local kids, meets up with fans during Carribbean vacation with family

Carlos Alcaraz is vacationing with his family in the Dominican Republic in the offseason. He kicked back at the island nation's Punta Cana resort and set sail on a yacht in the Carribean sea.

Fans warmly welcomed Alcaraz and his family as he soaked up some sun. He posed for a picture with one of the staff members as the yacht touched the beaches of Isla Saona and Palmilla.

Alacaraz's parents Carlos Alcaraz Gonzalez and Virginia Garfia Escandón and brother Alvaro also joined the four-time Grand Slam champion for a family picture. The picture appears to have been taken at night at the resort by the pool.

Though he was on a holiday, Alcaraz was not far away from a practice court. He also threw balls for a local kid while guiding him.

Alcaraz won his first Grand Slam event this year at the French Open grinding through a five-setter against Alexander Zverev. He followed it up with a thundering straight-sets victory over Novak Djokovic to lift the Wimbledon trophy. He also added the 2024 Indian Wells and China Open titles to his list of achievements.

However, with reigning Australian Open and US Open champion Jannik Sinner having a breakthrough season, the Spaniard closed his season as the World No. 3. Sinner tops the year-end rankings, followed by Alexander Zverev as World No. 2. Alcaraz has two exhibition events lined up in December before the 2025 season commences.

Carlos Alcaraz to headline exhibition matches at Garden Cup and The Charlotte Invitational

Carlos Alcaraz was last seen on-court at the 2024 Davis Cup in Malaga representing team Spain. Team Spain clashed with team Netherlands in the quarterfinals and Alcaraz won the singles tie against Tallon Griekspoor. However, he lost in doubles with partner Marcel Granollers against Botic Van de Zandschulp and Wesley Koolhof, giving way to team Netherlands to take the semifinal spot. Team Netherland made it to the finals but eventually lost to the 2024 Davis Cup champions, Team Italy.

Alcaraz will play an exhibition match against Ben Shelton on Wednesday, December 4 at Madison Square Garden as part of the Garden Cup. An All-American showdown between Emma Navarro and Jessica Pegula is lined up in another exhibition match at the same event.

A couple of days later on Friday, December 6, Alcaraz will be seen in North Carolina at The Charlotte Invitational. He will play an exhibition match against Frances Tiafoe at the event. The women's side of the exhibition matches will feature Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys.
