Caroline Wozniacki recently took a road trip with her husband David Lee through Tuscany, Italy. This took place after the Dane suffered a first-round exit to Sara Errani at the 2024 Madrid Open in her last match.
Wozniacki got married to the former NBA star Lee in 2019 in Tuscany, Italy. They met in 2017 through a mutual friend and Lee proposed in 2017 before tying the knot in 2019. She retired from tennis in December 2019 to start a family. The couple share two children: a daughter born in 2021, and a son born in 2022.
The Dane returned to tennis in 2023 at the Canadian Open. She notably reached the fourth round at the US Open, where she lost to eventual champion Coco Gauff. In 2024, the former World No. 1 suffered many early rounds exist with a quarterfinal run at the Indian Wells Open being an exception. She had to retire mid-match against Iga Swiatek.
Recently, Wozniacki was seen taking in the sight on a road trip with her husband David Lee.
"Recap from our weekend road trip thru (through) Tuscany with @Dlee042! Congrats James and Ingrid, we had a blast celebrating you," Caroline Wozniacki wrote on her X (formerly Twitter) account.
Caroline Wozniacki: "It's so important for me and for David that we are with them [kids] at every stage of their lives"
Caroline Wozniacki spoke on the importance of having her family with her as she scripted a comeback after a three-year hiatus.
After winning her first match in almost three years against Kimberly Birrell at the 2024 Canadian Open, the Dane said that it was nice to have her kids travel the world with her.
"I'm excited to come back to competition and I think for me it's so important to have my family here. Coming back when you're 33, and having been on the circuit for so many years, doing it now with the kids, especially the eldest who's starting to understand, and having them experience the world in different countries is really cool," Caroline Wozniacki told the media.
The Australian Open champion added that it was pertinent for her and her husband David Lee that they do not miss the kids' childhood while also playing tennis.
"It's a gift that I can give them and that David can give them, and we will have time to be with them, we will not miss out on their childhood. It's so important for me and for David that we are with them at every stage of their lives, and at the same time I can live this fabulous dream of being able to play on the circuit, and maybe playing well!" she said.
