After a hectic 2024, Coco Gauff is making the most of her time away from the courts. Most recently, the tennis star enjoyed a special Sunday church outing with her mother, Candi, and grandmother, Yvonne, and shared snaps of the same with fans.
For Gauff, the 2024 season was a mixed bag, but she ended her year on a high as she was crowned champion at the WTA Finals in Riyadh. While the American has already begun her pre-season training for the upcoming year, she's still finding time to enjoy the temporary break from competitions.
Most recently, the tennis star paid a visit to church ahead of Christmas, alongside her mother and grandmother. Gauff and her mother shared photos from their family outing on their Instagram stories, posing with each other in front of a Christmas tree.

Coco Gauff began her 2024 season on a strong note, reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open. She followed this up with semifinal finishes at the BNP Paribas Open, French Open, and the ecotrans Ladies Open.
However, her form soon stumbled, and she made early exits at a handful of tournaments in July and August. The American turned things around before the end of the season, winning the China Open, reaching the semifinals of the Wuhan Open, and claiming a title finish at the WTA Finals.
Coco Gauff on how her parents influenced her tennis journey
Coco Gauff has often credited her parents with her success on the courts, but she once explained that they never forced her to specialize in a sport when she was younger.
“My parents always never wanted me to [specialize] in a sport, which is why when I was 13, I knew that I was going to play tennis, but they still put me in basketball and track. I ended up missing my All-Star game because I had to play the junior US Open. I made the finals of that tournament,” she told the WTA after the 2024 Australian Open.
She went on to add that her parent's insistence that she play other sports eventually helped her in tennis, saying,
"I always knew tennis was going to be my thing. Something about playing other sports teaches you how to use your muscles differently, teaches you the mindset. I always recommend parents and kids to not put themselves in a box so early even though you know what your main sport is going to be. You'll be surprised how helpful other sports can be.”
After her turnaround in the latter half of 2024, Coco Gauff ended her season ranked as the World No. 3. The American has now begun training for the year ahead, and fans will no doubt be curious to see how she carries forward the winning momentum she experienced in China and Riyadh.
