The 2024 US Open champions Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner made a dazzling appearance on NBC's Today Show. The men’s and women’s singles champions were seen at TODAY Plaza at Rockefeller Center in New York City, proudly showcasing their hard-earned trophies.
Sabalenka, who secured her third Major title, defeated first-time Grand Slam singles finalist and local favorite Jessica Pegula 7-5, 7-5 in a thrilling final, which lasted an hour and 53 minutes.
On her path to victory, Sabalenka overcame formidable opponents such as Priscilla Hon, Lucia Bronzetti, 29th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova, 33rd seed Elise Mertens, seventh seed Zheng Qinwen, 13th seed Emma Navarro, and finally sixth-seeded Pegula. The Belarusian became the first player since Serena Williams in 2008 and 2009 to reach consecutive US Open finals.
Sinner, on the other hand, clinched his second Grand Slam title by defeating 12th seed and home favorite Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in the final, which lasted two hours and 15 minutes.
The Italian’s journey to his first US Open victory included overcoming opponents such as Mackenzie McDonald, Alex Michelsen, Christopher O’Connell, Tommy Paul, Daniil Medvedev, Jack Draper, and ultimately Fritz. Sinner’s remarkable achievement made him the first player since Guillermo Vilas in 1977 to win his first two Grand Slam titles in the same season.
Photos circulating on social media showed Sabalenka and Sinner basking in the glory of their wins at Rockefeller Center, where the NBC morning show is filmed. Their high-profile media tour also included an appearance on LIVE with Kelly and Mark.

Jannik Sinner had an extraordinary campaign at the 2024 Australian Open, capturing his first-ever Grand Slam title. Sinner's journey began with a commanding straight-sets victory over Botic van de Zandschulp, 6-4, 7-5, 6-3, in the first round.
The Italian continued his dominant form against Jesper De Jong, 26th seed Sebastian Baez, 15th seed Karen Khachanov, fifth seed Andrey Rublev, and top seed Novak Djokovic. In the final, Jannik Sinner completed a dramatic comeback against third seed Daniil Medvedev, recovering from two sets down to claim victory 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3, marking his Grand Slam breakthrough.
Aryna Sabalenka, meanwhile, displayed her dominance at the 2024 Australian Open, successfully defending her title with ease. In the first round, she powered past Ella Seidel, 6-0, 6-1.
Sabalenka then followed it up with victories over Brenda Fruhvirtova, 28th seed Lesia Tsurenko, Amanda Anisimova, ninth seed Barbora Krejcikova, and fourth seed Coco Gauff. The final saw her take on 12th seed Zheng Qinwen, where Sabalenka's aggressive and powerful play earned her a dominant 6-3, 6-2 win, securing her second consecutive Australian Open title.
