Jannik Sinner's campaign at the US Open was phenomenal, as the Italian lifted his career's second Grand Slam title. After his victory, the tennis star traded his Nike gear for Gucci attire as he posed with his trophy during the champion’s photoshoot, leaving fans amazed.

Sinner’s run in New York got off to a strong start when he made it past Mackenzie McDonald 2-6, 6-2, 6-1, 6-2 in his opening round. He then beat his next three opponents in straight sets, before Daniil Medvedev managed to push him a little in the quarterfinals.

The Italian's semifinal match saw him overcome a wrist injury scare to beat Britain's Jack Draper and set up a summit clash with home favorite Taylor Fritz. The US Open final saw Jannik Sinner dominate Fritz, as he took down the American 6-3, 6-4, 7-5. After the win, the 23-year-old donned a Gucci attire to pose for a photoshoot alongside the winner’s trophy.

For Jannik Sinner, this US Open title comes shortly after it was revealed that he tested positive for a banned substance earlier this year. According to the ITIA, the Italian tested positive for Clostebol in March but has been cleared of any wrongdoing. However, the handling of the case drew quite some scrutiny, and after his win, Sinner opened up on the significance of the victory, saying,

“This title means so much, because the last period of my career was really not easy. I love tennis, I practice a lot for these stages. I understood, especially in this tournament, how important the mental part is in this sport. I’m very happy, very proud to share this moment with my team.”

While Sinner is happy with his win in New York, the 23-year-old is already looking ahead to finding ways of improving.

“So many big wins for me this season. Starting off with Australia and playing so well there which gave me confidence 'til now. The work never stops. I know I can still improve. As we saw today, a couple things. You have to be proud of what you have. The rest, you have to go for it and work for it. I can’t wait for my continued process.”

With his title-finish at the US Open, Jannik Sinner has become only the fourth different man to win both the Australian Open and US Open in the same year since 1988. His win also makes him the first Italian to win a men's singles title in New York.
