Jannik Sinner turned heads as he stepped out in a Gucci jacket and Rolex watch to receive the ATP World No.1 trophy in Monte Carlo. Sinner received a special trophy from the ATP chairman Andrea Gaudenzi for his landmark achievement.
The Italian became only the 29th man in history to climb to the No. 1 spot in the rankings. Sinner also became the first Italian, man or woman, to achieve this feat. He dethroned Novak Djokovic, who has been World No. 1 for a staggering 428 weeks in his tennis career.
The 22-year-old, after receiving the trophy from the ATP chairman, took to Instagram to express his feelings. He posted a picture of himself holding the World No. 1 trophy. Sinner sported a stylish Gucci jacket and a Rolex watch for the occasion.
The Italian thanked the ATP for the trophy presentation held at the Monte-Carlo Country Club. Sinner further said he was looking forward to the upcoming grass court season.
He captioned the post:

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), meanwhile, posted a unique Instagram post - a 'Diary of World No. 1' - for Jannik Sinner. They shared some pictures and videos of the reigning Australian Open champion.
In one of the videos, Sinner shared a message with fans and supporters. He said this was the best feeling in his tennis career and that he looked forward to being on the court.
He was quoted as saying:
"Hi everyone, Jannik here. I just wanted to say that I'm very happy to have this trophy with me. It's an amazing feeling, the best feeling I've ever had so far in my career. So, I'm very happy to share this with all of you. I'm looking forward to see you all very soon on the court. Ciao ciao."

Jannik Sinner, after becoming the new World No. 1, spoke to the ATP about his recent milestone and a few other things. The Italian has had a very successful 2024 season so far, winning three tournaments - including the 2024 Australian Open.
While speaking to the ATP, the 22-year-old reflected on his season and said that it meant a lot to him to become World No. 1. Sinner added that it was a great privilege to be a part of big tournaments.
He said:
"For sure, it means a lot to me. Being World No. 1, it means you had a great year — actually, an incredible year with a lot of success, and obviously [I am] very happy about this. On the other hand, you always have tournaments. You have to play the biggest tournaments. So that's a huge privilege to be part of, and I'm just looking forward for the next challenges."
Sinner is now gearing up for the upcoming grasscourt season. In the 2023 Wimbledon Championships, he suffered a semifinal loss to Novak Djokovic.
