In Pictures: Jannik Sinner in white and Aryna Sabalenka in black turn heads as 2 champions pose with maiden Cincinnati Open trophies

Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka recently posed with their first Cincinnati Open trophies. This was Sinner's fifth title of the season, while Sabalenka secured her second.

Sinner was the top seed in the Masters 1000 tournament and he began his campaign in the second round after receiving a first round bye. Here, he beat qualifier Alex Michelsen 6-4, 7-5 and then advanced to the quarterfinals after his third-round opponent Jordan Thompson, withdrew from their match due to a rib injury.

In the last eight, the World No.1 overcame sixth seed Andrey Rublev 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, then triumphed over third seed Alexander Zverev 7-6(9), 5-7, 7-6(4) in the semifinals . He then defeated Frances Tiafoe 7-6(4), 6-2 in one hour and 37 minutes to win his second Masters 1000 title of the season.

Following his win, the official social media page of the Cincinnati Open shared a couple of photos from a photoshoot of Jannik Sinner donned in an all-white ensemble posing with the trophy.

Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka, was seeded third in the tournament and she defeated Elisabetta Cocciaretto 6-3, 6-4 and Elina Svitolina 7-5, 6-2 to reach the quarterfinals. Here, the former World No.1 overcame Liudmila Samsonova 6-3, 6-2 before eliminating Iga Swiatek 6-3, 6-3 to set up a title clash with sixth seed Jessica Pegula.

The Belarusian beat the American Jessica Pegula 6-3, 7-5 to win the Cincinnati Open, doing so without dropping a single set, just like she won the Australian Open in January.

The official social media page of the Cincinnati Open also shared a couple of photos of Aryna Sabalenka posing with her trophy.

During the post-match on-court interview following his victory over Frances Tiafoe in the final of the 2024 Cincinnati Open, Jannik Sinner expressed that he was satisfied with the way he played as it was a tough match. He said that he hopes to maintain his winning streak at the upcoming 2024 US Open and "show good tennis."

“I'm very happy about about today's match. It was very tough mentally. Had such an amazing run here, and I tried to do my best today . I'm very glad about [the] level I played today, especially in the important moments. I’m very happy to be in a position where I am and just trying to keep going mentally, having this hunger to keep playing, and hopefully I can show some good tennis also New York,” Jannik Sinner said.

Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka shared her thoughts on her progress, stating that while she has not yet reached her peak performance, she is steadily moving towards it . She said that she is growing in confidence with each match she plays and is eagerly anticipating carrying that momentum into the US Open

“I would say that I'm really playing great tennis, probably not like the best tennis I can play, but I'm definitely getting there. And with every match I play, I feel better, better and better and hopefully at the US Open, I can keep building the level, and I can, I can reach maybe even higher level than I used to play,” Sabalenka said [via WTAtennis.com].

Both Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka will next compete at the 2024 US Open. Last year, at the New York Slam, the Italian reached the fourth round before falling to Alexander Zverev while Sabalenka reached the final before losing to Coco Gauff.
