Lorenzo Musetti's girlfriend talked about the tennis player as a father
Veronica Confalonieri, who always supported her boyfriend's tennis endeavors, shared that the former World No. 15 was taken aback by the pregnancy news but slowly adjusted himself to parenthood.
"Lorenzo is very affectionate with Ludovico, he really cares about being a good dad, he even changes diapers. At first, the fact that he was expecting a baby was a surprise, and it upset us a bit. Maybe at the beginning I was more shocked than he was, I was afraid that it would hinder his career, that he would feel homesick when he was away at tournaments," Veronica said in July 2024 (via Italian portal Di Lei).
Musetti had a successful 2024 season, advancing to the fourth round at the Miami Open after defeating American player Ben Shelton. He next recorded his 100th career win at the Monte Carlo Masters before defeating Taylor Fritz at Wimbledon to reach his first-ever Grand Slam semi-finals.
At the Paris Olympics, Lorenzo Musetti became the first Italian to win an Olympic medal in a century, clinching the bronze after facing defeat from the eventual champion, Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.
The 22-year-old was part of the Italian team that defeated Netherlands 2-0 in the finals of the 2024 Davis Cup.
