Madison Keys is getting married to long time partner Bjorn Fratangelo, and WTA stars Jessica Pegula, Taylor Townsend, Jennifer Brady, and Laura Robson are making the most of the wedding party. The tennis stars have gathered to support their friend and have been sharing sneak peeks of the wedding with fans.
Keys and Fratangelo first met in 2016, when they were both training at the same facility in Boca Raton, Florida. A year later, the duo began dating, before making it public in 2017. The tennis stars have continued to share glimpses of their relationship with fans, celebrating milestones like Valentine's Day and birthdays on social media.
In 2023, after six years of dating, Frantangelo proposed to Keys. The duo are now getting married, and the latter's friends from the WTA circuit, including Jessica Pegula, Taylor Townsend, Jennifer Brady, and Laura Robson are there to celebrate the occasion. Robson shared photos from the wedding party, congratulating the couple and giving fans a small glimpse of the decor and venue.
Meanwhile, Brady also shared pictures from the wedding, showing off the behind-the-scenes prep and her own dance moves.
Bjorn Fratangelo on coaching Madison Keys
Aside from their off-court relationship, Madison Keys and Bjorn Fratangelo also spend plenty of time together on the court, with the latter coaching Keys since 2023.
While Fratangelo admitted to being surprised that Keys wanted him to coach her, he said he enjoys the job and is pleased with their success together.
“When she asked if I could go to the grass-court season with her and do Eastbourne and Wimbledon, of course I said yes. I wasn't doing much and I didn't expect to have the success that we've had and she's had. She's done an unbelievable job winning Eastbourne, quartering at Wimbledon, and now, kind of taking the momentum in the summertime. It's been great,” he told the ATP last year.
“We're best friends. She's my fiancée. There's nothing we keep from each other and it's been very collaborative and it's been a lot of fun I think for both of us,” he went on to add.
After a promising 2023 season, Madison Keys' 2024 season has been a mixed bag due to multiple injury issues. Her best performances include a title win at the Internationaux de Strasbourg and semifinal appearances at the Mutua Madrid Open and the Rothesay International.
