Maria Sharapova recently made an appearance at the Axios AI+ Summit in New York, where adoption of Artificial Intelligence was discussed by the titans of the industry. The Russian, who has been seen at various business conferences since her retirement, donned an interesting full sleeves outfit at the event.

Sharapova hung up her racquet at the 2020 Australian Open due to a chronic shoulder injury. The five-time Major winner has focused on the business side of her life since then; she currently heads her candy company Sugarpova, while also being a key investor in tech wellness group Therabody.

Maria Sharapova was invited by IBM to attend the 2024 Axios AI Summit on Wednesday (June 5). The 37-year-old wore a colour-blocked full sleeve top with a black leather skirt. She also accessorized elegantly, pairing her skirt with a belt of the same color.

The outfit was put together by designers Gabriela Hearst, Michelle Rhee and Janelle Miller. Sharapova gave them the credit in her Instagram story, writing:

"A quick NY moment with IBM... Bodysuit @gabrielahearst Skirt @michellerhee.nyc @janellemiller."

Maria Sharapova later sat down for a chat on the benefits of AI in sports, saying:

"As a player, when the draw came out previously, you know your matchups, who you played well against and who you didn't match up well against. But now, an app tells you that, so if I was still playing, I'd turn on this app and basically it would tell me if I could win or not."

The former World No. 1 also showed off her new haircut in one of her Instagram stories. She looked stunning in a selfie, the caption of which was:

"A quick haircut before the trip @hairbyadir @xaviervelasquez @genevieveherr."

Maria Sharapova is one of the best tennis players to ply their trade on the WTA Tour in the 21st century. She won five Major titles and spent 21 weeks as the World No. 1.

Having turned pro in 2001, Sharapova shocked the tennis universe by winning her maiden Major title at Wimbledon three years later. She defeated Serena Williams in straight sets in the final to take home the Venus Rosewater Dish.

While the Russian also won the US Open (2006) and the Australian Open (2008), her most successful Major tournament was the French Open. She triumphed on the terre battue in 2012 and 2014 against all odds, making a case for her as one of the best claycourters of her time.
