As detailed in a collaborative Instagram post by Lemigova, Leon and Florida Grand Opera, the event took place at the Lafayette Miami to support Florida Grand Opera and Advocates for Children and Families.

Lemigova, who has established a strong footing in opera singing, delivered a captivating duet with Laura León during the event. For those unaware, Navratilova was diagnosed with stage 1 breast and throat cancer in January 2023 but achieved remission within months, because of early detection and swift treatment.

Following her performance, Lemigova shared how opera served as a vital source of comfort and stress relief during Navratilova's battle with the illness. Additionally, Navratilova contributed a tennis-inspired painting to the auction, successfully raising funds for both organizations.

Martina Navratilova embraced motherhood for the first time on August 14, 2024, when she and her wife, Julia Lemigova, welcomed two young boys into their family through adoption. In an interview with People, Lemigova shared that while she is sleep-deprived, her experience as a mother has been great.

"I'm sleep-deprived but so happy. It's becoming a reality because it's only been three months, but it's been a very intense, loving, incredible, three months," she said.

Lemigova shared that Navratilova had pledged to reduce her social media usage earlier in their marriage, a commitment she honored after the couple adopted their sons.

"When we got married, [Navratilova] promised me, one of her vows was she would get off social media a little bit because she's constantly on Twitter [now X] and that it took her how many years of marriage to actually be less on social media because of the boys because now she has no time," she added.

Martina Navratilova, who came out as bisexual and lesbian in 1981, initially crossed paths with Lemigova at a Parisian gay bar in 2000, reconnecting eight years later. She proposed to Lemigova in 2014, and the couple tied the knot later in December.
