The event was a celebration of the upcoming Paris Olympics, which will kick off on July 26, and the latest fashion trends from Vogue Adria, the regional edition of the world’s leading fashion magazine. The Serb was featured in the magazine’s summer 2024 issue, which was released two weeks before the event.
Vogue Adria released two vibrant covers of their latest issue on Instagram, featuring Djokovic in a pair of whimsical poses. The first cover shows the 37-year-old sprawled on the floor, dressed in a royal blue knitted Lacoste sweater and matching trousers. Behind him stands a trophy cabinet, with an old-fashioned wooden tennis racket by his side.
In the second cover, the Serb dons a fluffy green bathrobe while perched on a vintage green bicycle, clutching a rotary telephone.
Novak Djokovic discusses the Paris Olympics possibly being his last bid for gold
Novak Djokovic is intensely focused on achieving the last major milestone of his career: an Olympic gold medal.
During a press conference at the 2024 Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid, the former ATP No. 1 expressed his honor in representing Serbia at the prestigious Olympic Games.
"Well, I'm thinking about it and I, I think it is possible if I don't think it's possible, I probably would not be playing Olympic Games. So, you know, you always have to believe that everything is possible in life. And the Olympic Games are the oldest and most prestigious sporting events in the history of the sport. It's a huge honor to be representing Serbia in the Olympic Games," he said (via Olympics.com).
Djokovic hopes to stay fit for these Games, viewing them as his best chance at gold, although he remains optimistic about competing in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
"So I hope I can be healthy and fit and I hope I can play my best tennis because at the end of the day, who knows if I get another chance to play the Olympic games. They only come every four years. I said recently that I would really want to play at least till LA Olympic Games, but you never know, you know at this stage what can happen or how far I can go. So I'll try to use this opportunity as best possible," he added.
The upcoming Paris Games, which might be Novak Djokovic's final Olympics, marks his fifth appearance. The Serb won bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, reached the semifinals in London 2012, was eliminated in the first round in Rio 2016, and finished fourth in Tokyo 2020.
