After her Wimbledon campaign, Paula Badosa has been in the limelight off the court. She has recently been featured in an interview and photoshoot for Spanish magazine La Vanguardia. The article broaches her life in tennis, with photographs taken against the background of a tennis court.

In the interview, Badosa talked about her journey in tennis so far and the challenges she has overcome. She mentioned how she had hit rock bottom personally after the Mutua Madrid Open, having lost in the first round of her home tournament. Badosa said about her recent challenges and the Wimbledon campaign:

"This Wimbledon has given me back my faith in myself and has helped me believe that I can be among the best in the world again."

Heading into the Paris Olympics, she shared that she has a new physical trainer. She has also appointed a new nutritionist and psychologist to deal with mental health issues competing at the highest stage. The changes in her team were made after the loss in Madrid.

The 26-year-old, when discussing the pay disparity between male and female players, said that though different players had different opinions, they still had a togetherness off the court, and supported one another. Further on in the interview, she talked about her motivation to compete at the highest stage:

“In my case, the only explanation I can find has to do with my stubbornness, with never losing that faith, that desire to play the final rounds on the big courts against the best players in the world. That is the reason why I continue to fight day after day."

Badosa posted three pictures from the photoshoot on Instagram, wih some of the outfits from the interview. She captioned the post:

In the interview with La Vanguardia, Paula Badosa shared her thoughts on her personal life and relationships. She said that her partner, fellow tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas, train together as well as separately, and the two share the same passion. The Spanish also star discussed how the media places scrutiny on their relationship, especially when either has lost a match. She said:

"Criticism is never easy to deal with, especially when people link our personal lives to our professional results. It feels disrespectful."

The couple had separated briefly before the French Open but reconciled shortly after. Badosa further talked about how they both need time to navigate the pressures of their careers and personal lives. Talking about words and questions from the media, she added:

"I could understand this criticism of distraction more if it were with a person from another world, but being two athletes with a clear objective, what I think is that people don't even know what they are judging"

Badosa and Tsitsipas have, on multiple occasions, provided clarifications regarding their relationship. Before the French Open, they said they wanted to keep their relationship to themselves and not let the public or media get involved in it.
