Rafael Nadal's sister, Maribel, recently showcased the interior decor of the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy in Kuwait. She gave fans a glimpse of portraits of tennis legends Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Serena Williams.
Maribel is Rafael Nadal's younger sister and only sibling, born to their parents, Ana and Sebastián. In addition to supporting her brother's career, she is involved in his charity organization and has also made her mark in the fashion industry.
Maribel, who oversees marketing and sales for the academy, posted a video to her Instagram Story on Wednesday (Nov. 13), featuring a tour of the facility. The clip highlighted a restaurant and reception area, which displayed portraits of Nadal himself, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, as well as one of Serena Williams.
The 22-time Grand Slam winner was present at the inauguration ceremony of the academy in 2020. In November 2019, he stated that they aim to replicate the success of the Mallorca Academy in Kuwait.
“Personally, I am very happy to open the academy in Kuwait and we are working hard to develop the right programs for the children and to promote the development of tennis in this region," he said (via Tennisnet).
“We worked so hard that children from all over the world in Mallorca to improve their tennis and life skills. Here in Kuwait we want to do the same with young children and adults," he added.
