Sports royalty graced round three of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships on Saturday, as Cameron Norrie took on Alexander Zverev on Centre Court. Cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Jos Butler; as well as football icons Pep Guardiola and Leah Williamson were in attendance at the Royal Box.

Tendulkar, one of the greatest cricketers of all time, was welcomed with a video that announced his record as the highest run-scorer in the sport. The crowd welcomed him with a big ovation. England cricketers Root, Stokes and Butler were also welcomed to raucous applause by the crowd.

Guardiola, seated near Stokes, was animated as always, particularly during an enthralling tiebreak in the third set.

Williamson, captain of the England football team, was also in attendance. Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, Sir Jason Kenny, Dame Laura Kenny, Adam Peaty, Sir Chris Hoy, Sir Ben Ainslie, Hannah Mills, Dame Denise Lewis, Kate and Helen Richardson-Walsh were among other celebrities at Centre Court.

The celebrities in attendance witnessed an exciting match on Saturday. While Zverev picked the first two sets comfortably, Norrie gave him a great deal of trouble in the third. The fourth seed managed to claim the set, however, clinching the win 6-4, 6-4, 7-6(15).

Alexander Zverev will play the winner of the Taylor Fritz-Alejandro Tabilo tie in the fourth round. The German has ousted Roberto Carballes Baeno, Marcos Giron, and Norrie so far and is yet to drop a set. He is in the Round of 16 at Wimbledon for the third time in his career. However, he is yet to reach the quarterfinals.

13th seed Fritz has taken out Christopher O'Connell and Arthur Rinderknech in his opening two rounds whereas 24th seed Tabilo has defeated Dan Evans and Flavio Cobolli so far. This will be the third meeting between the two men, with Fritz leading their head-to-head 2-0.

Fritz is a former quarterfinalist in SW19 (2022), while Tabilo is enjoying his best run at a major currently.

Zverev holds a favourable head-to-head against both men. He is up 5-3 against Fritz and 1-0 against Tabilo.
