Chinese tennis star Zheng Qinwen had a memorable encounter with Nicole Kidman and Anna Wintour at the Balenciaga couture show during Paris Fashion Week. Zheng posed for a picture with Kidman, expressing her admiration for the Oscar-winning actress.

Zheng reached the final of the Australian Open earlier this year and climbed to a career-high ranking of No. 7. The 21-year-old has won two WTA titles in her career, and was named the 2022 WTA Newcomer of the Year.

The Chinese tennis star recently concluded her run at the ecotrans Ladies Open in Berlin. She defeated Naomi Osaka 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to reach the Round of 16, where she lost 6-4, 6-4 to the eventual quarterfinalist Katerina Siniakova.

Kidman attended the couture show in Paris on Wednesday, June 26, wearing a maxi dress by Balenciaga. The 57-year-old has won an Academy Award, a BAFTA, two Emmys, and six Golden Globes for her roles in films such as 'The Hours,' 'Moulin Rouge!,' and 'Lion.'

Zheng, who was making her first appearance at a fashion show, dazzled in a Balenciaga cut-away boxy jacket in dark grey, paired with a Balenciaga Hybrid pant skirt. She accessorized her look with a Rodeo large handbag and knife pump heels, both by Balenciaga. She also shared some pictures of her outfit on her Instagram account and thanked the Spanish luxury fashion house for the invitation.

"First show experience. Thank you for having me @balenciaga," Zheng wrote.

Zheng posted a picture of their meeting on her Instagram story and added a pink two-heart emoji to express her affection.

The Australian Open runner-up was also seen mingling with Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour in pictures shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter).

Zheng Qinwen was not the only tennis star who enjoyed the fashion week in Paris. Serena and Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, and Casper Ruud were also spotted at various shows and events during Vogue World.

Zheng Qinwen will make her third appearance at this year's Wimbledon Championships (July 1-14).

Zheng made her first appearance at the grass-court Grand Slam in 2022, where she reached the third round by defeating former US Open champion Sloane Stephens and Greet Minnen in straight sets. The Chinese tennis star lost to the eventual champion Elena Rybakina 7-6(4), 7-5 in the third.

The 21-year-old couldn't match up her performance the following year, losing 6-3, 7-5 in the first round to Katerina Siniakova.
