Carlos Alcaraz will face either Ugo Humbert or Brandon Nakashima in the fourth round of Wimbledon 2024
Following his victory over Frances Tiafoe, Alcaraz will continue his quest for the second Wimbledon title of his career, as he faces the winner of the match between 16th seed Ugo Humbert and Brandon Nakashima in the fourth round on Sunday.
On Friday, a couple of third-round matches played on the outdoor courts were suspended due to rain. Humbert and Nakashima were in the fourth set of their clash with score reading 6-7(9), 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-6 in favor of the Frenchman when officials postponed the match to the next day.
Looking at both players, Humbert is currently the World No. 16 in the ATP rankings. This season, he won the Dubai Tennis Championships and the Open 13 in Marseille by defeating Alexander Bublik and Grigor Dimitrov in the respective finals. Meanwhile, Nakashima's best record so far in 2024 is reaching the semifinals of the BOSS Open before losing to eventual champion Jack Draper.
Carlos Alcaraz will face Ugo Humbert for the very first time if the two lock horns in the fourth round of Wimbledon 2024. However, he will face Brandon Nakashima for the second time if the two meet. Their previous encounter came in the round robin of the 2021 Next Gen ATP Finals, with Alcaraz winning in straighet sets.
