The 2025 Australian Open men's singles draw is out, and fans have poured in with their opinions on it. According to most, record 10-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic faces an uphill battle in Melbourne this time around to win his 25th Grand Slam. Several have also weighed in on World No. 1 and defending champion Jannik Sinner's and Carlos Alcaraz's chances at 2025's first Major.
Djokovic, who reached the semifinals last year before falling to eventual champion Sinner, is set to start his 2025 Australian Open campaign against wildcard Nishesh Basavareddy. A potential third-round meeting with Reilly Opelka is on the cards for the Serb.
Opelka won their recent Brisbane International quarterfinal battle. More concerningly for the former World No. 1, there's a chance of meeting Carlos Alcaraz in the quarters and Alexander Zverev in the semis.
Tennis journalist Jose Morgado took to X (formerly Twitter) to share Novak Djokovic's section of the 2025 Australian Open men's singles draw and suggested that the Serb will have a tough time in Melbourne.
Many fans agreed with Morgado's take on Novak Djokovic's draw. One even suggested that a difficult draw at a Grand Slam is long overdue for the Serb.
"This draw is looking incredibly difficult for Djokovic, especially with the current form he's in. He needs to be at the level that he last showed in 2023 ATP Finals to make a deep run. #25 remains a distant dream!!" a fan wrote.
"Brutal draw for Novak," another added.
"About f**king time he got a hard draw," one stated.
Some opined that the draw favors World No. 2 and two-time Major finalist Alexander Zverev the most. The German is slated to begin his campaign against wildcard Lucas Pouille and could potentially run into the likes of Nick Kyrgios, Casper Ruud, and Tommy Paul in the latter stages of the tournament.
"Zverev won the draw!" wrote one fan.
"Zverev has the easiest path i think," opined another.
There were others who chimed in regarding Sinner and Alcaraz's respective draws. Sinner is set to face Nicolas Jarry first, with Hubert Hurkacz, Matteo Berrettini, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Taylor Fritz being his potential opponents over the next rounds.
One fan took a rather nasty swipe at the Italian over his doping row. Meanwhile, Alcaraz might run into Sebastian Korda and Jack Draper before potentially facing Djokovic.
"Its all rigged for the pasta doper of course," suggested one.
"Jannik Sinner with a relatively easy draw for the first time," another weighed in.
"A hard draw that Carlos can take seriously, i’ve seen enough we’re taking it all," added yet another fan.
Djokovic, already in Melbourne, has been captured on cameras preparing for the Australian Open alongside former rival and new coach Andy Murray. The Serb also played a practice set against Alcaraz.

Andy Murray wasn't physically present for Novak Djokovic's run to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Brisbane International. However, the legendary Brit is very much there in person for the Serb's Australian Open campaign. The two have been seen working on the 24-time Major champion's game.
The Serb failed to produce his best tennis in 2024 barring his men's singles gold medal winning campaign at the Paris Olympics. His best finish at a Major last year came at the Wimbledon Championships, where Carlos Alcaraz made short work of him in the final.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz was quick to join Djokovic for a practice set. The Serb performed impressively and won the set 7-5. The Australian Open remains the only Grand Slam that Alcaraz, despite still being only 21, has not won.
