The Indian Wells prize money is equal for both ATP and WTA tours, with the champions taking home massive cheques. Carlos Alcaraz and Elena Rybakina won the 2023 Indian Wells men's and women's singles events on Sunday, thus taking home paycheques of over $1.2 million each.
Rybakina beat Aryna Sabalenka 7-6(11), 6-4 in the Indian Wells women's singles final and thus got revenge for her loss in the Australian Open final, while Alcaraz beat Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 6-2 in the men's singles final to also regain the ATP world No. 1 ranking from Novak Djokovic.
The Indian Wells prize money pool for each of the singles events is $8,800,000. Of these, Alcaraz and Rybakina took home a whopping $1,262,220 each for winning the tournament, while runners-up Medvedev and Sabalenka earned $662,360 each.
Frances Tiafoe and Jannik Sinner were the losing semifinalists on the men's side, while Iga Swiatek and Maria Sakkari ended the tournament as semifinalists on the women's side. Each of the four players earned paycheques worth $352,635. Felix Auger-Aliassime, Taylor Fritz, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, and Cameron Norrie earned $184,465 each as losing quarterfinalists on the men's side, while Sorana Cirstea, Karolina Muchova, Petra Kvitova, and Coco Gauff each took home the same prize money as losing quarterfinalists on the women's side.
The combined 2023 Indian Wells prize money pool for both men's and women's singles events of $17.6 million was up by more than 5% of last year's tally.

Additionally, players who reached the fourth round of both singles events at Indian Wells this year, earned prize money worth $96,955 each, while those who reached the third round took home $55,670 each. Meanwhile, players losing in the two earliest rounds also earned decent sums, with Indian Wells prize money standing at $30,885 each for the 64 players whose campaigns ended in the second round and $18,660 each for the 128 players who bowed out in the opening rounds.
