Alex de Minaur's girlfriend Katie Boulter recently revisited a disturbing incident involving a stalker. When it had happened, Boulter was in the company of boyfriend de Minaur. However, despite this, the Brit said "it wasn't the best feeling".
De Minaur and Boulter, both well-established tennis players, began dating in 2020 and went public about their relationship the following year. The couple is still going strong, and earlier this year, they revealed that in the initial stages of their relationship, they did their best to keep it a hush-hush affair.
Recently, Katie Boulter, currently ranked World No. 24 in singles on the WTA Tour rankings, in an interview with The Guardian, revealed how people have stalked her in the past. The 28-year-old went on to recall a particular incident in London where someone in a car followed her when she was out with boyfriend Alex de Minaur.
"People have followed me at times. I actually went to go and pick up Alex from Queens, and I had someone follow me in the car. We went to Sloane Square, got out, went for a walk around the shops and stuff and the same car was following me home. I was with Alex, so it was absolutely fine, but yeah, it wasn’t the best feeling," Boulter told The Guardian.
Recently, the WTA British No. 1 paid credit to the ATP Australian No. 1, laying bare how he has inspired her to become a better player.
"Alex de Minaur's there for advice" - Katie Boulter on learning from boyfriend
In a recent Sky Sports interview, Katie Boulter shared insights into her willingness to learn from Alex de Minaur and improve herself as a tennis player. De Minaur's 2024 season was a memorable one.
The Australian broke into the top 10 of the ATP Tour rankings for the first time, won two titles (Mexican Open and Rosmalen Grass Court Championships), and also qualified for the year-end Nitto ATP Finals for the first time in his career.
"I feel like we've really helped each other in so many different ways. Firstly he's there for advice. He's got some credence, so I have to take his advice on board and I don't mind listening to him once in a while. I don't know if he takes it well from me but he knows what he's doing," Boulter told Sky Sports.
Boulter enjoyed a relatively successful 2024 herself, winning her second and third WTA Tour-level titles at the San Diego Open and the Nottingham Open respectively.
