Jannik Sinner is back on court - and how! The Italian kicked off his 2024 French Open campaign on Monday, May 27, and did so in luxurious fashion, walking out on the court carrying a brand-new Gucci duffle bag.

Sinner has upped his on-court fashion game recently; it all started with his showstopping entrance at last year’s Wimbledon Championships. The Italian, a global brand ambassador for Gucci, toted an all-over monogram duffle bag in the brand’s classic beige and brown palette, with the iconic red and green straps wrapped around. What set it apart, though, was the “J.S.” initials imprinted on the sides.

At the US Open the same year, Sinner added a little more flavor to his accessory, abandoning the usual colors for hints of blue and yellow. He sported a similar bag with blue and black strap at the ATP Finals. Interestingly, at this year’s Australian Open, the eventual champion played his matches sans his prized possession.

At the French Open, though, the Gucci duffle bag has made a splendid comeback -- this time in striking white, contrasting with the color of clay. The red and green straps are back, too. What’s unique is that the new duffle bag is designed in collaboration with the World No. 2’s racket sponsor, Head.

Sinner, who secured a routine 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Christopher Eubanks on Monday, walked out on Court Suzanne-Lenglen wearing a navy-blue Nike jacket over his clay-camouflaging T-shirt and paired it with matching shorts and a hat, allowing the contrasting white to shine through.

Gucci and Head later shared the iconic moment on social media.

"Global Brand Ambassador Jannik Sinner on the court in Paris with his new Gucci custom duffle bag designed in collaboration with HEAD," the caption read.

Jannik Sinner began his association with Gucci in 2022. Since then, the Italian has sported various looks from the Florence-based luxury house during his magazine photoshoots and his off-court commitments.

After winning his maiden Grand Slam title at the 2024 Australian Open, Sinner opted for a navy-blue cardigan from the brand for the official champion's photocall. Earlier this month, Gucci also launched a new reportage-style campaign called “Gucci is a feeling,” honoring the tennis player and celebrating his achievement.

During his recent appearance at the Madrid Open, Jannik Sinner also made an honest admission and his humble beginnings and revealed how he felt about his collaboration with the Italian luxury giant.

"I never thought about anything like that when I was younger, I was just trying to be a professional player," he said.
"I never thought about the big brands, and I still don't. I love being part of one of the families, meeting new people and having them give me different points of view that make me grow as a person. I respect them a lot, I try to do my best," he added.

Fans can expect Jannik Sinner to bring out his Gucci duffle bag again on Wednesday, May 29, as he takes on local veteran Richard Gasquet in the second round of the 2024 French Open.
