After his first-round victory at the French Open, the Italian confirmed his relationship with the Russian tennis star.

"I'm with Anna, yes. But we keep everything very reserved. You know how reserved I am. I won't say any more," Jannik Sinner said at a press conference after his first round win against Christopher Eubanks. (According to ANSA)

Sinner's statement came hours after the Russian was spotted at his first-round match. The Italian also lent his support to Kalinskaya during her first-round match against Clara Burel. Jannik Sinner has always remained tight-lipped regarding his personal life. He shed light on his decision to keep his family and people closest to him out of the limelight in an interview with Vanity Fair Italy.

The Italian said that he wanted to protect those closest to him, adding that he owed them for helping him when he was young.

"I want to protect the people closest to me, keeping them out of this. I see it as a small task to carry out, almost a duty: they helped me, when I was young, to gain self-confidence, and today in some way I want to protect them," Sinner told Vanity Fair.

Sinner also answered a question about his love life, he said that having a relationship was not easy owing to his hectic travel schedule. He, however, added that love is a beautiful thing when you find the right person. Sinner also alluded to the fact that many successful tennis players had spouses and kids.

"No. Of course it's not easy, I travel around a lot and during tournaments I'm very focused. But I think it's a beautiful thing when you find the right love. Like for everyone. And then, if you think about it, the best tennis players in the world all have wives and children," he said.

Jannik Sinner will now take on the winner of Pavel Kotov and Stan Wawrinka in the third round.
