Jessica Pegula revealed one of the craziest experiences she faced with a fan. She said that it was weird that she had to sign her wedding photo with her husband, Taylor Gahagen.

The American wrapped her 2024 season after competing at the WTA Finals, where she couldn't advance further than the third round. Her match against Coco Gauff was canceled as she withdrew because of a left knee injury. She was slated to commence her 2025 season by competing in the Brisbane International but couldn't as she wasn't completely fit.

Pegula is now ready to start her season by competing at the Adelaide International. In its pre-tournament press conference, she was asked about one of her craziest experiences with a fan. She revealed that she had to once sign her wedding photo, and then the fan kept it, which the player thought was bizarre.

"Well, with a fan, I think I signed in Asia my wedding picture, a printed-out picture from my wedding. I've definitely not done that before. Then they kept it, which is weird. That was bizarre, for sure. I think that was in China," said Pegula.

Pegula then also shared some crazy incidents she has had with players:

"Then with a player? I mean, I don't know. We have a lot of, like, I'm sure I've had a lot of crazy travel experiences with players, just missing flights, missing trips. Chaos kind of consumes when you both are kind of on the same travel schedule or flights in between tournaments. But yeah, I'd have to really think about the player one. But the fan one, for sure that was weird."

Jessica Pegula got married to her husband, Taylor Gahagen, in 2021, after dating for six years.

In the aforementioned press conference, Jessica Pegula opened up about her injury. She revealed the situation of her knee injury and that her season opener was delayed because her knee needed one extra week of recovery.

"Happy New Year, everyone. It's nice to be here in Adelaide. Off season was pretty good, I was kind of battling a little bit of a knee injury that I withdrew in Saudi with. So, I felt like it went well, but I just needed kind of little bit of an extra week. That's why I opted out of playing Brisbane, starting here instead," said Jessica Pegula.

She added:

"Yeah, but feeling really good. All's well. Enjoyed the nice break and ready to start 2025 season."

Jessica Pegula's women's singles match at the Adelaide International is scheduled to be held on January 8, and the contender is yet to be decided. The player's doubles match is slated for January 6, where she will partner with Ashlyn Krueger and will compete against Jelena Ostapenko and Hsieh Su-wei.

The 30-year-old had a roller-coaster experience in the 2024 season, as she reached the finals of the US Open; however, she couldn't nab the title after being bested by Aryna Sabalenka. She again faced the same fate at the Cincinnati Masters and was defeated by Sabalenka with a score of 6-3, 7-5.
