Taylor Fritz and Reilly Opelka sent a hilarious birthday wish for compatriot Tommy Paul. The American celebrated his 27th birthday on May 17.

American tennis players have enjoyed a good rapport among them, with Coco Gauff recently sharing her admiration for Danielle Collins and Paul. Paul also has maintained bonhomie with Opekla and Fritz over the years. The Americans have often been seen cheering on each other at their matches.

This friendly atmosphere in the American tennis camp has brought about many humorous moments off the court as well, specifically through social media. On the occasion of Tommy Paul turning 27, Opelka and Fritz engaged in a friendly banter as they wished the 2024 Italian Open semifinalist on his birthday.

Reilly Opelka trolled Paul for wearing Jorts and mandal. Jorts means jean shorts while mandal means man sandals.

Taylor Fritz on friendship with Reilly Opelka and Tommy Paul: "We have been through so much"

Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, and Reilly Opelka gave a peak into their early friendship in 2022 in an interview with ATP Tour. Opelka said that they met each other when they were just teenagers and have developed a good friendship since then.

"We first met when we were around 13 years old and we have been training together since then and we started hanging out then, so the relationships naturally formed. At that age, it is an interesting time. We had a weird setup because we didn’t have any parents around.“It was us three living together, so we didn’t have as much direction,” Opelka said to ATPTour.com.

Fritz reminisced about the fact that the trio managed to stay together even though a lot of the people they started with could not be professional tennis players.

“We have been through so much. It's crazy to think you grew up with a lot of people playing tennis, and not many of them end up making it professionally and we all were able to come up and be on Tour together. It is great," Fritz said.

Tommy Paul will fight for a place in the final against Nicolas Jarry at the 2024 Italian Open, while Fritz's campaign ended in the quarterfinals against Alexander Zverev.
