Taylor Swift was present at the US Open final with her partner Travis Kelce. Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes was also in attendance along with his wife Brittany Mahomes, whom Swift hugged.
Brittany Mahomes had previously stirred controversy on social media a few weeks back by liking an Instagram post from former U.S. President Donald Trump about the "2024 GOP platform".

The US Open men's singles final was between Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz. While the Italian beat Jack Draper in straight sets in the semifinals, the American edged out compatriot Frances Tiafoe in five sets.

Jannik Sinner eventually put on a noteworthy show to beat Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 and win the US Open. While Fritz showed moments of resilience, the Italian was just too good on the day and clinched his second Grand Slam title.
With his win, Sinner became the first Italian male singles champion in the history of the US Open. He also became the fourth man to win both hard-court Grand Slams in the same year, having previously clinched the Australian Open. The others to have attained this feat are Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Mats Wilander.
Sinner now has 55 wins out of 60 matches so far this season, clinching six titles.
