Katie Boulter swooned over her fiance Alex de Minaur's shirtless Christmas click featuring the couple in Santa hats. She dubbed the celebrations "slightly different."
Love has been in the air during this offseason with so many tennis stars getting engaged. Boulter and de Minaur were the latest ones to join the list when the Brit spilled the "secret'' about their engagement. They have been in a relationship since March 2020.
The couple celebrated their first Christmas after their engagement with De Minaur sharing pictures on his Instagram. The first one showed the Aussie donning a Christmas hat as he posed from the driver's seat of his car. The other featured the couple against the backdrop of a beautiful lake, which also saw the Aussie rocking a shirtless look, captioned:
"Merry Xmas to all!!!"
Boulter reshared the second image on her Instagram story and swooned over her fiance.
"Slightly different Christmas this one 🥵," Katie Boulter wrote.
The Brit also teased the Aussie for wearing the Santa hat in another story and hilariously called him "the Grinch."
“Managed to get the grinch in a hat," Katie Boulter wrote.
The news of the couple's engagement sent the tennis fraternity into a frenzy with many stars expressing their delight.
"It's gonna be interesting" - Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter will turn rivals for the 2025 United Cup
During the 2024 United Cup, Great Britain and Australia landed in the same group meaning Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur were up against each other. While de Minaur lost the singles match, Boulter won but fell in doubles.
As fate would have it, a year later Great Britain and Australia landed in the same group again meaning the now-engaged couple will have a rematch. Speaking about her thoughts on their match to Sky Sports, Boulter said this was a good chance to attain bragging rights over her other half:
"I wouldn't say that I was thrilled at the idea of playing him all over again. He's a top-10 player and he knows how to play tennis so there is one side of it. There is a personal side of it as well which is difficult but also great for bragging rights. I'm looking forward to the match of course.
I think it's going to be a great atmosphere. Playing Australia is always going to be fun. It's another opportunity for us, we're definitely the underdogs so let's put pressure on them."
De Mianur called the situation "surreal" and thought the tie between the countries would be interesting.
