Leylah Fernandez caught the imagination of the tennis world on Sunday (January 12) with her outfit at the 2025 Australian Open. Fans were unanimously in love with the pink outfit from Lululemon, which the Canadian wore in a straight-sets win over Yuliia Starodubtseva in the first round in Melbourne.

Clad in a bright pink thin strapped top and a pink miniskirt, Fernandez dominated the proceedings on Sunday with a convincing 7-5, 6-4 win in her first Grand Slam match of the year. In addition to her tennis, the outfit also generated a lot of positive mention on social media.

Fans were of the opinion that the look was better than anyone else's at the tournament so far, especially with Aryna Sabalenka's Nike outfit failing to live up to expectations.

"Leylah Fernandez x Lululemon >>" one fan said.
"Perfection," another wrote.
"Leylah Fernandez kit goes crazy!" one commented.

Fans were hoping that Leylah Fernandez's tennis also lived up to her outfit, hoping that they would be able to see it a few more times at the Australian Open this fortnight.

"I love Leylah’s kit. It’s so cute," one fan said.
"Oh Leylah’s #AusOpen kit EATS… let’s just hope she plays well enough to wear it for a while during these 2 weeks…" another wrote.
"Leylah's ao kit is so pretty," one fan replied.

Following her win over Yuliia Starodubtseva, Leylah Fernandez will next take on Spain's Cristina Bucsa in the second round of the 2025 Australian Open. The Spaniard took down France's Chloe Paquet in the first round in straight sets.

Fernandez is likely to meet third seed Coco Gauff in the third round, with the American slated to take on compatriot Sofia Kenin in her opener on Monday. Should Fernandez reach the fourth round, she is expected to face former French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko.

Meanwhile, seventh seed Jessica Pegula is the anticpated quarterfinal opponent for the Canadian, with top seed and two-time Grand Slam champion Aryna Sabalenka the heavy favorite to reach the semifinals from her side of the draw.

On the other hand, World No. 2 and five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek is the main contender to reach the final from the bottom half of the draw, followed by the likes of former Wimbledon champ Elena Rybakina and two-time Slam runner-up Jasmine Paolini.
