Anna Kalinskaya on how she can match up to top players like Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka
Anna Kalinskaya spoke to Harper's BAZAAR Australia and said that the key for her to be as good as the likes of Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka was to have a sense of balance in her life so that she could be happier off the court.
“I think [the key is to] change some things in my life — not training, but adjust a little bit my lifestyle to make it more simple, enjoy things on my off days to have a good balance. And have a better schedule to know when you can see your friends so you can be happier outside of the court. I can get recharged, so I can compete better and have more energy, and be better mentally. Then, I can be as good as them," Kalinskaya said.
The 26-year-old finished the 2024 season with 33 wins out of 51 tour-level matches, with her last tournament being the Ningbo Open. Here, she reached the quarterfinals before losing 6-2, 2-6, 3-6 to Karolina Muchova.
Kalinskaya started the year as the World No. 80 and her ranking rose to 11th at one point. She will finish 2024 as the World No. 14, just 471 points away from the Top 10.
