Lorenzo Musetti reached his first semifinal at a Grand Slam level in Wimbledon 2024. His four-month-old son Ludovico was pictured in a Wimbledon-themed jumper after the win. Veronica Confalonieri, Musetti's girlfriend, shared a photo to mark the occasion.

Here is how the Italian reached the final four at SW19:

He won against Constant Lestienne in the first round, compatriot Luciano Darderi in the second, Francisco Comesana in the third, and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the fourth round. In the quarterfinal, Musetti faced Taylor Fritz, with both aiming for a maiden semifinal.

Fritz won the first set 6-3. The Italian raised his level to win the second in a tiebreak. He followed it up with a 6-2 set to get a lead in the match. Fritz reacted strongly and won the next set 6-3, sending the match into the fifth set. Musetti then upped his game and won the final set 6-1 to reach the semifinals.

Following the win, the Italian and his girlfriend Veronica Confalonieri celebrated the result together. His son Ludovico also joined the festivities, commemorating the result with a special, Wimbledon-themed jumper.

"End of the day," Confalonieri captioned the picture (translated by Google Translate).

Musetti fulfilled his childhood dream to reach his maiden GS semifinal at Wimbledon. During the on-court interview, he got overwhelmed with emotion and fought through tears to deliver heartfelt gratitude to his family.

The Italian said that he did not emote often, but admitted it was difficult to keep his emotions in check after the win.

"It's tough for me to get emotional but today I think I will. I have been dreaming about this moment since… (sorry)…. I was a kid, I always had a family, really beautiful family, who always supported me in chasing my dream… It's tough to speak," Musetti said in the on-court interview.
“I have to say after the birth of my son [this year], I will put in the second position today for my career. For my career [this] is the best day of my life," he said.

Musetti will now take on seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic for a place in the final. The Serb leads their head-to-head two 5-1, with the Italian's only victory coming at the Monte Carlo Masters last year.
