Tennis fans were left feeling disappointed after learning that Jannik Sinner has been overlooked for a spot on Centre Court at Wimbledon on Day 1. The players scheduled to compete on Day 1 on Centre Court are, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, World No. 2 Coco Gauff, and Emma Raducanu.

Fans are saddened not to see World No.1 Jannik Sinner, who will face Yannick Hanfmann in the first round of the grass court Major, play on Centre Court.

They took to social media to express their disappointment and share their opinions on the matter

One fan expressed that they understood for Wimbledon organizers favoring their countrywoman Emma Raducanu but questioned their decision to exclude Sinner, who had reached the semifinals last year before losing to eventual runner-up Novak Djokovic, from playing on the Centre Court on Day 1.

"Lads I know you love Emma but why wouldn’t you put jannik sinner on instead ffs," a fan posted.

Another fan sarcastically commended Wimbledon organizers for giving Emma Raducanu a spot on Centre Court on Day 1, despite her best result at SW19 being reaching the fourth round in 2021, while denying Sinner the same opportunity, despite him being the top seed and the World No.1.

"RoundOneCanu instead of W No. 1 Sinner on CC 😂 Bravo Wimby 👏🏻 ," a fan wrote.

Some fans described the absence of the Italian on Centre Court on Day 1 as a "shame," while others deemed his snubbing as "disrespectful."

"What a shame whitout @janniksin," a fan posted.
"Disrespectul to Sinner honestly i can understand gauff getting centre court cause she is wta number 2 but why raducanu? Just cause she’s british?" a fan wrote.

Many fans expressed that they were confused over the decision not to give the World No.1 a spot on Centre Court on Day 1 and instead opting to grant it to a wildcard.

"World number one not in cc 😅 😅 ," a fan posted.
"And world Number One??" a fan wrote.
"I like Emma but that is a little bit questionable choice," a fan posted.
