Although the tennis stars had known each other for a long time, Bjorn joined Keys' coaching team in June 2023. Madison Keys was seen sharing a warm embrace with her husband Bjorn Fratangelo right after her historical win over Aryna Sabalenka. The couple shared an embrace on the court after her triumph, which capped off an incredible two weeks for the 29-year-old American tennis star.

Keys extended a heartfelt message for her team after the match. She gushed over their vision of making her a champion even after she had reached the age of 29.

"I have wanted this for so long. I have been in one other Grand Slam final, and it didn't go my way. I didn't know if I was going to get to this position ever again. But my team believed in me so much... they believed in me when I didn't believe in myself," she said, during her on-court interview.
