Madison Keys' husband and coach, Bjorn Fratangelo, has penned a loving message for the 29-year-old after her impressive victory at the 2025 Australian Open. Keys' breakthrough follows on the heels of the couple tying the knot in November of last year.

Keys faced a formidable challenge as she took on World No. 1 and two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka in the Australian Open final. However, the American impressively rose to the occasion and claimed a hard-fought 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 victory, clinching her maiden Grand Slam title eight years after falling short in her first Major final.

Madison Keys had tears in her eyes as she rushed to hug her husband Bjorn Fratangelo, who has been pulling double duty as her coach and providing invaluable support from the sidelines.

Fratangelo also took to social media and penned an emotional message for his wife, commending the 29-year-old on her well-deserved victory after witnessing her struggle through eight years of uncertainty about whether she would ever win a Major title.

"For 8 years, I have watched you wonder if and when your time would come. Sometimes, you thought it never would. I never cared about any of that because to me you’re so much more than what you do with a racquet. Through your lowest of lows and all the highs, you stuck with it and finally get what you truly deserve," Fratangelo captioned his Instagram post.

The 31-year-old also celebrated Madison Keys' growth over the past 18 months, while emphasizing that the love of the people in her inner circle was never contingent on her winning a Grand Slam title.

"Everyone around you loves you so much and a grand slam is not needed for that. It’s been amazing to see you evolve over the last 18 months and no one can ever take this away from you. To everyone who supported Madi.. thank you. And to the best team @theathleteconnection @lang_r48 thank you so so much. You both have made this so special," he added.

Madison Keys gave a loving shoutout to her husband, Bjorn Fratangelo, and her coaching team during her victory speech at the 2025 Australian Open. The American tearfully expressed her gratitude to them for their unwavering belief in her ability to succeed, even in moments of self-doubt.

"I just want to say thank you to my team and this is where I'm going to cry. I have wanted this for so long and I have been in one other Grand Slam final, it did not go my way and I didn't know if I was ever going to be able to get back to this position to try to win a trophy again," Madison Keys said.
"And my team believed in me every step of the way, so thank you so much. They believed in me when I didn't believe in myself and helped me every step of the way," she added.

Keys also emphasized the importance of having her husband by her side for her triumph, especially after navigating a challenging and injury-plagued 2024 season.

"Last year was so tough with some really bad injuries and I didn't know if I was going to be able to do it again. To be here and have this trophy and to be able to do with my husband, who's kind of dazed and confused over there, I love you all so much and I cannot wait for more," she said.

Beyond her husband Bjorn Frantagelo's touching words, Madison Keys has also received an outpouring of love and support from her fellow players, with the likes of Serena Williams, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Ben Shelton extending their heartfelt congratulations to the American.
