Maria Sharapova recently posted an Instagram story where she was playing with her son Theodore's tennis racquet. She gave birth to her first child with her fiance Alexander Gilkes in July 2022. The couple has been together since 2018.
Recently, Sharapova shared an Instagram story of herself hitting a tennis ball to the wall. She revealed that she secretly used her son's racquet when no one was home.
"When you order a racquet for your child but secretly use it yourself when no one is home," she wrote on Instagram story.
Recently, Sharapova spoke about her life after becoming a mother. In an interview with Tennis Channel, the Russian said that she was applying the lessons she learned in business and sports in her parenthood journey.
"There's a lot of negotiation skills that go on with parenthood which I didn't know that the negotiations that I learned through my career in business and in the sport that I would apply to parenthood. But I'm learning about that every day. You got to give something to take something," Sharapova said [at 0:25].
"It's been one of the best things that's happened to me in my life and I get to teach him and grow with him. I get to learn through his actions and his findings. He's exploring the world and I get to explore with him. He has very long eyelashes and I don't know where they come from but I appreciate them," she added.

Maria Sharapova was recently accompanied by son Theodore and fiance Alexander Gilkes in the stands of Wimbledon.
In one picture, Sharapova was seen guiding her son through the Centre Court, and in another, the young family was photographed on the iconic court. The former World No. 1 also showed her son her name on the Wimbledon honor board.
Sharapova retired in 2020 after winning five Grand Slam titles, including one at Wimbledon. Her title at SW19 came in 2004 when she was just 17 years old. She defeated the two-time defending champion Serena Williams in the summit clash. 2024 marked 20 years since the Russian won her first Grand Slam title.
Sharapova also won the Australian Open in 2008, Roland Garros in 2012 and 2014, as well as the US Open in 2006.
