Madison Keys got emotional when she delivered a heartwarming speech after her AO win

Madison Keys married the former ATP top 100 player, Bjorn Fratangelo, in November 2024, who was present to cheer his wife alongside the former's coaches.
In her victory speech, the 29-year-old expressed pride in herself and gratitude for everyone who came out to support her as Fratangelo looked on with tearful eyes. She said:
"So to now have won my first Grand Slam in the same place (Melbourne) means the absolute world to me. And I'm so thankful for all of you who come out and cheer every single tournament and every single time we play here in Melbourne.
Keys even broke down mid-speech but continued saying:
"And I just want to say thank you to my team and this is where I'm going to cry. I have wanted this for so long and I have been in one other Grand Slam final and it did not go my way and I didn't know if I was ever going to be able to get back to this position to try to win a trophy again. And my team believes in me every step of the way. So thank you so much."
Madison Keys faced Sloane Stephen in the 2017 US Open finals, recording the first All-American match-up since Serena and Venus Willaims in 2005. The former World No. 7 also has the 2018 French Open appearance in her repertoire.
